    A good read.

Pleasing to see the Academy venues scoring dreadfully for drinks and staff – they’re terrible (in terms of sound, though, I think they’re pretty good).

Also nice to see The Actress & Bishop emerge victorious – it really is like a gig in your living room, complete with small lampshaded lamp… The best thing about it is the fact that it’s a rectangular room but the stage is along one of the long sides rather than one of the short sides – that means that there isn’t the usual abyss between stage and punters that you get at small gigs, and even when it’s not that busy it still feels populated. (That can make squeezing past people to get to the toilet tricky, mind…)

I really must go to The Accybishy.

That’s the good thing (or one of the good things) about living in a connurbation though, I suppose. There are aways going to be great new things to discover.

I agree with the Academy-bashing 100%, but I’m surprised that The Civic came behind the main Academy room. When it comes to comparing crap 2,000 capacity venues then I (personally) think Wolves beats Brum hands down.

Testify.
